Greg is a skilled potter with a significant depth of knowledge, and the ability to teach in a fun and instructive manner.
His unique area of expertise is teaching wheel throwing on the pottery wheel. He has taught hundreds of beginners the basics.
Greg has also completed large sculpture commissions in New Zealand carving the human form in stone. So, he has a unique ability to teach sculpture, and in particular, realistic figurative work.
We have created a comfortable and well-equipped studio with ample storage space to keep your work safe.
We provide 4 Frema electric pottery wheels. Wheels are direct drive which are silent and easy to use. This makes for a quiet, enjoyable pottery experience.
We provide quality, well-tested clay. Our main clay is White Stoneware clay, which is high-fired to 1260 degrees making your finished work strong, durable and is microwave and dishwasher safe.
You can use our extensive colour range of paint-on glazes as well as several dipping glazes. You are also welcome to use your own glazes provided that they are compatible with our clay and firing temperature.
We have a large 6 cubic foot front-loading Studio Kiln so we can fire large pieces up to 64cm tall.

Greg studied pottery and sculpture for 3 years in Auckland, New Zealand, graduating with the Diploma in Art and Design (Level 6) in 2019.
On graduation he was hired by the New Zealand School of Art and Design as a Pottery Technician.
He worked there until 2022 while also teaching night classes at The Clay Centre in Ellerslie and teaching on weekends at Driving Creek Pottery in Coromandel.
Greg returned to live in South Africa in 2022 and manufactures quality handmade pottery while teaching part time.
